Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote

Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. Really great job man. That's right on par with nVidia's GeForce 3D Vision. Only drawbacks are your product is for the Wii only (it seems) and only supports one player per screen. It'd still be great for PC though, just setup an infrared camera in front of the screen? Then it'd work online with other people because they have their own screens.

oookkkkk I want to see some games using this too! everyone has two controllers, now nintendo needs to release a controller holder that points towards the head and some glasses with sensors and call em something like wii-d. making software using this is easy, its would be like using a second remote for position... plus wii-plus and this... now we are talking. its sad that they are not many awesome wii games coming out lately
