yea ik personally i think the reason that people thought it was because of the wars is b/c of the lines "like a couple of kids just trying to save eachother you should've seen it in color" and "this one here was takin over seas in the middle of hell in 1943 in the wintertime you can almost see my prayers that was my tailgunner old johnny mcgee he was a highschool teacher from new orleans and he had my back right through the day we left." those 2 things are probably what made them think that.

If you like the sound of this music you should try listening to Dwight Yokam1. Two doors down2. The back of your hand3. The heart that you own..Classic country sounding music..Dwight has many other songs as well..Laters!

One other note about the song...the chorus "you should have seen it in color" means you needed to be there to get a real sense of what it was really like then.
